More than half the fun of living in Colorado is taking advantage of the mountains. And in the winter, that means WinterWonderGrass comes to Steamboat Springs. If you haven’t been, it’s a unique, grassroots festival featuring more than 25 bands and 20 Colorado breweries over four days.
The true beauty of WinterWonderGrass is that it’s a music festival held in the peak of winter, meaning it weeds out the fair-weather concertgoers. No flip flops and daisy dukes, just passionate bluegrass music fans who also love snow sports. It’s a colorful array of bundled up skiers with big smiles as snow falls while fiddle players shred against the blizzard and frozen fingers pick faster than you ever thought possible..
This year, Trampled by Turtles headlined. We also saw Railroad Earth, The California Honeydrops, Chain Station, Billy Strings and the Infamous Stringdusters. Add to that some of the best snow to fall in the state, and you’ve got a perfect weekend.
If this sounds like fun, make sure to grab some tickets next February.
